Cod Liver Oil differs from other fish oils because it is a nutrient rich source of Vitamin A and Vitamin D, while these vitamins are naturally present in the oil we have enriched our capsules with additional vitamin A and D to ensure they contain 100% NRV of both these vitamins. Vitamin A contributes to maintenance of normal skin, mucous membranes and vision while Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones, teeth and muscle function. Both vitamins contribute to the normal function of the our immune systems. 

Cod Liver Oil contains the important essential fatty acids EPA and DHA.  Essential fatty acids cannot be made sufficiently within the body therefore they must be obtained from your diet.

If you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy 

It is not recommended to take more than 800mg of Vitamin A supplementation per day if you are pregnant or likely to become pregnant without the advice of a doctor or antenatal clinic. If this is of your concern, we have an alternative fish oil that may be worth considering:  Omega-3.
